"Sire, we have a lot to catch up on," Castor told me for the millionth time.
"I'm just going to make sure that she ate lunch," I replied. "I'll be back in 10 minutes tops."
Castor sighed as he stepped in front of me yet again, blocking my way to the door.
"My Lord, you said the same thing about breakfast," he said. "You were gone for almost two hours. You've only been doing your duties for a couple of hours."
"I promise to make it shorter this time," I lied.
Yeah, it was a lie. I knew it. Castor knew it. It was a huge lie that I didn't even try to make it sound believable.
