Luca was discharged the following afternoon.
The doctors wanted him to remain under observation longer, but he argued until they agreed he could recover at home with strict instructions. No driving. No training. No lifting anything with his injured shoulder. No ignoring headaches, dizziness, or chest pain.
Luca agreed to everything too easily.
That worried me.
He usually argued with anyone who gave him rules.
By the time we reached the mansion, Sophie had called three times to ask where we were. Claire had taken the children home earlier so they could prepare for Luca’s return. Victoria sat beside him in the car, watching every movement he made. Richard rode in the vehicle behind us with security.
