Connor I didn’t leave. I walked out, but I didn’t leave. I stood right there in the hallway, hand on the doorframe, heart in my throat, fists clenched at my sides like I was holding myself together with nothing but the fury inside me. And the worst part? I wasn’t even mad at her. I was mad at myself for not seeing it coming. You should have known. You should’ve scented it on her earlier. You should have fought harder. You should have kept her away from him. My wolf was pacing in my head, growling so loud it made my skull throb. He was angry in a way I couldn’t contain, but he was hurting too. Hurting like something sacred had been torn out of us and handed to another male. Hurting like our mate had been touched, taken, marked in places only we were meant to own. And still, I waited.
