The kids were a lot of work. As much as they were blessings, they also came with endless crying, feeding at odd hours, and the kind of tiredness that sank deep into my bones. Still, every time I looked at their faces, all I could feel was love.
They both looked so beautiful, their little features so unique. One had Ethan’s calm gray eyes, already so steady even as a baby, while the other had a spark in his gaze that reminded me of myself. Opposite in every way, but both perfect.
