“Tom… how could you destroy our marriage like this?” Sara whispered through her tears, her voice so fragile it barely filled the dark guest room.
She sat curled into herself in the far corner, as if making her body smaller could somehow lessen the pain clawing through her chest. But nothing could. Especially not after what she had seen.
Fresh tears streamed endlessly down her swollen cheeks, soaking into the sleeves of her dress.
Her entire body trembled...not from the cold, but from the unbearable weight of betrayal pressing down on her.
