“Can we go to the cinema instead?” I asked Emilia as she drove out of the parking lot.
She blinked at me. “Cinema? To do what?” she asked with a hint of amusement in her voice.
I couldn’t even blame her for that reaction.
“I want to watch a movie,” I replied, my breathing heavy.
“A movie?”
I nodded. “Yes.”
Emilia glanced at me for a second before she shifted her attention back to the road. “A few minutes ago, you were talking about how you wanted to know the result quickly, but now, you want to go to the movies first?”
“Yes. I’m scared. I want to watch a movie,” I replied, chewing the tips of my fingernails. “I don’t want to confirm my fears yet.”
Emilia let out a deep exhale. “Okay, I’ll drive to the cinema instead.”
“Thank you,” I replied
