The meeting with Caleb wasn’t for another thirty minutes, so I was surprised when my secretary told me that Caleb had already arrived and was waiting in the conference room.
After the conversation I had with Abby earlier, it wouldn’t hurt to spend some time alone with my best friend before the meeting started.
Besides, we had a lot to catch up on.
I picked up my stuff and made my way to the conference room.
But just as I got closer, I froze when I heard noises coming from the meeting room.
What the hell was happening?
They weren’t regular noises. It sounded like someone was yelling at the other person, angrily.
And I could recognize the voice.
Abby.
Who was she yelling at?
Caleb was the one who was meant to be in the conference room.
