“Mia, I f****d up,” I breathed heavily as soon as the phone connected.
“Hey, Abby. What’s going on? How? What happened?” she asked, her voice laced with concern.
I pressed a hand to my forehead and closed my eyes tightly for a moment. My chest tightened with guilt and I was even too ashamed to admit what I’d done.
“Abby, are you still on the line?” Mia asked when I didn’t say anything else.
I walked back to the bed and sat down.
“Landon and I were having s*x, then I accidentally moaned Liam’s name.”
I felt embarrassed and terrible.
“Jesus!” Mia gasped. “Why? That’s really bad.”
I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, I know but it wasn’t intentional. I don’t even know what to say to Landon to convince him that it was just a silly mistake.”
