Victoria had never really thought about her dreams. She always assumed she would just work with her family for all of her life. Perhaps marry a local farmer and have a family.
“I don’t know. Maybe get married and have a family.”
“No, I mean your real dreams. If nothing was to stop you,” Robert said with emphasis.
“I’m not sure, there have always been things to stop me,” Victoria laughed.
She liked sitting with Robert. They had had plenty of conversations over the last few weeks of him coming to visit her fruit stand. But this was the first time she felt really comfortable with him. His kind nature and calm demeanor were very pleasing to Victoria.
