She handed me her card wallet, a thin leather billfold that carried all her credit and debit cards. Everything that had been in my name or had my name on it, was void. I’d removed my name and closed all those accounts weeks ago. I didn’t touch her credit cards or her debit cards. They were no good anyway. I simply added the one debit my lawyer ordered for her. It only had her name on it as the account was in her name only. I’d left a small farewell amount in there. Just enough for the basics. Enough for her living and to start a new life.
