I’m an absolute wreck today. I spent all morning packing for everyone, only to take it all out and repack. It doesn’t seem good enough, then it seems too good. Joseph finally came in and took the trunks away, telling me that whatever I packed would be fine. I’m so nervous.
Joseph bought a larger van for us to travel in a few years ago, but this is the first time we’ve all been in it. I’m thankful, because it is spacious. It will be a long drive, and the boys have been fighting with each other all morning.
“Put your seatbelts on,” I tell them.
“Moooom,” Lucas whines.
“I don’t want to,” Peter tells me. “You’re being crazy if you think we’ll get hurt.”
“Do it,” Joseph growls at them. He seems so angry, and both boys quickly hook the belts.
