I didn’t know how long I stayed there.
Long enough for the cold to settle fully into my skin.
Long enough for the moon to climb higher above the trees.
Long enough for my thoughts to finally quiet down.
So when I felt the presence behind me, I noticed it immediately.
It wasn't threatening in any way.
It was.... familiar.
Alexander.
I turned slowly.
And there he was.
Alexander stood a few steps away, my robe folded over one arm as he watched me quietly beneath the moonlight.
For a second, neither of us said anything.
Then he walked toward me.
Slow and calm. Like he didn’t want to disturb the stillness around us.
When he reached me, he spread the robe open slightly without a word, letting me slip my arms into it before he settled it properly over my shoulders.
