Dante came the next morning after Rachel's ridiculous comment that refused to leave my mind all through the night and I would not admit it, even on my death bed, but I was looking forward to seeing him and had put a lot of effort to look a lot less than death kissed, and he came back the morning after that, and I noticed things I hadn't been letting myself notice before—or rather, things I'd been noticing and filing away with the efficiency of someone who'd decided noticing them wasn't useful.
