The first thing I felt was pain. It was sharp, but deep like it was pounding ache. It felt like someone wedged something inside my skull that couldn't stop ringing in my head. My ribs felt tight and I pulled myself together to turn to the other side of what felt soft like a bed.
Before opening my eyes, I heard a strange breathing. It was heavy and it felt like someone was close by. It was quite uneven, yet soft.
I immediately forced my eyes open and I blinked repeatedly, trying to get a good focus of the hospital room. The lights were dim and the disinfect stench was strong enough to remind me I was in the hospital.
For a second, everything felt strange like I found myself inside another body that was not mine, but then , I looked to my right.
