After I reached Xavier's penthouse that evening, my heart could stop racing. Maybe it was the tension that I was building from my thoughts. Maybe it was the trauma I got from the accident. I don't know, maybe it could even be him.
The street light glowed on me as I stood at the front of his door. After taking a deep breath, I lifted my hand to know, but I didn't even touch the door and it swung open.
