The words echoed off the walls like an alarm. Multiple heavy footsteps approached rapidly. A tall, distinguished man in an expensive tailored suit stormed around the corner, flanked by two younger men who looked like bodyguards, a woman who appeared to be an assistant, clutching a tablet and two other men whose faces I recognized instantly.
Quentin and Tatum.
“Where is my Lauren?!” The man's voice thundered yet again. His face was flushed with rage, silver hair perfectly styled despite the late hour.
I guess that's him.
Senator White.
Even without the introduction, his presence commanded attention. The air in the corridor seemed to thicken. Nurses and staff froze mid-step, exchanging nervous glances.
