Madeline: I only remembered passing out. When I started to wake up, I found myself in a small space. Trying to move my arms, I realized how badly my body ached. As I grimaced, someone suddenly held my hand and rubbed the back of it. The warmth of that touch comforted me enough to ease some of the pain. Still, it didn’t stop me from trying to wake myself up completely. When I opened my eyes and saw Graham, my body finally relaxed.
