After the swabs were taken, Kael insisted we return to the penthouse. I know Eli was disappointed, but I think after everything that happened he was still scared, so he didn't argue. The ride back was quiet. Even Eli seemed lost in his own thoughts. I wondered what Shadow had said after we were all safe, since Eli hadn't listened.
When we finally got back, Kael made a quick phone call while Eli and I changed into comfortable clothes. I knew tomorrow he would need to go to the pack, so he insisted we spend the evening with Eli before we sat down and talked about everything that had happened over the last twenty-four hours.
