Kael POV
A firm knock on my office door has me looking up from the alliance papers I've read over three times. The guilt I've been feeling is making it difficult for me to focus. I'm not sure why the hell I feel so damn guilty. It's not as if the vows we took were real. Hell we hadn't even spent time with each other before the wedding. It was always meant to be temporary. So why the f**k do I feel like I'm abandoning people I am meant to protect? I expect Atlas to offer his opinion but he has been eerily quiet.
"Kael, what the hell is wrong with you? I've called your name twice and you haven't responded," Orion says, as he takes the seat in front of my desk.
