Aurek stepped fully into the chamber, and every wolf in the room drew a breath at the same time. Not a gasp. A recoil. His body was wrong. Not the usual wrong I remembered from the Program, where unnatural strength and muted scent made him unsettling. This was another level. His limbs were too long. His shoulders hunched at strange angles. His skin glowed faintly where silver leaked out in lines, like veins full of liquid metal.
