I woke like someone had poured ice water down my spine. My breath caught in my throat, sharp and fast. My wolf pressed against my ribs, ears pinned, pacing hard inside my chest. She knew. I knew. Aurek had brushed my mind again. Jack was already half awake, arm beneath my head, muscles tightening around me like a shield. Beau’s hand was warm at my waist, steady and grounding. They felt my shift before I even said a word. Jack’s voice was low, rough from sleep. “He was in your head again.” I nodded once.
