After one thing is another! From Jon to not finding him, then avoiding Maya’s curvy body, which I find harder and harder to resist with each day, to this. What else could go wrong?
“Money laundering, Ang?” Paolo fixed his scary eyes on our eldest brother, unbuttoning his dark brown jacket, moving the lapels aside as his left hand slid into his pants pocket. His nostrils flared, and his gaze deepened when our sister entered the room.
“The fcuking police arrested her,” Paolo has his tattooed-covered hands covering his face now.
The girl who works at the coffee shop I love was arrested last night, and she said she received money from us when they were raided. The owner of the building was in their custody as well. But we don’t use it as a front for our business transactions.
“Seriously?” Is the first thing Gabby says, glaring at each of us, one by one. Thomas bends his head, remaining seated on an office chair.
Tami, who is also there, takes herself out of every situation that is remotely similar to this and lightly kisses Gabby on the cheek, whispering something to her that we cannot hear, before closing the door silently behind her exit.
It must have been something near to, “Give me your version when all the cussing and shouting is over.”
“Angelo, Paolo, I swear I had nothing to do with it. They’re coming at us with this sh*t because this is what they can do legally. Why would I launder money?”
“You gave him money, Gabby.” Paolo got out before Angelo could, while I remained silent, taking it all in from the corner of the desk I was perched on. Angelo is standing behind his chair, situated behind his desk but standing and facing the lonely road leading up to our ‘huge mansion’, according to Maya.
Technically, it’s called a manor, but yeah, a mansion works too.
“Not give, loan,” she corrected him, her hands folded neatly across her chest. Her hair was loose, her make-up immaculate and wearing glittering sandals of some sort with a made-by-order moss-coloured ladies' fit, pants-suit.
Maya has a pair as well. I see she got the coaching from my sister. Good. Gabby and Tami are having a good impact on her fashion sense.
“Why would I give money?” One of Gabby’s eyebrows perches up, and one hand juts out in a gesture as well. “I just figured since you guys like the coffee there, it would be a waste to let it close down. Geez, chop my head off while you’re at it.”
Paolo, who is pacing the room, halts and frowns deeply upon hearing her explanation. Unfortunately, Gabby did exactly what I would have done if I had also heard the café was closing down. Hmm, financial problems. Interesting.
We could get out of this sticky situation. They cannot prove anything anyway. The police might know what we are up to, but they cannot hold anything in court that we cannot bribe ourselves out of.
A week later, we had a preliminary hearing. Gabriella, not us.
“Irregular financial operations,” is what the lawyer stated they were investigating the company for. Yeah, the coffee shop that makes the incredible coffee. “Money laundering for a drug cartel and conspiracy to commit fraud.”
It’s a bit worrisome, but it’s not as if we cannot get out of it. It's a matter of when and how.
My mind whirled. Christ! Another problem to solve. How do we get rid of this? Unalive the accountant? Will she accept a bribe? I very much doubt this. Otherwise, she would have done so herself instead of reporting it.
The fcuking c*nt reported it because I had not taken her calls. They were not in any financial crisis. She ensured Gabby ‘overheard’ her conversation with another worker, knowing fully well that the money would be offered up, just to get back at me. She called me the next day to boast about it.

After the hearing
The woman at the fault of these gasps when my left hand closes around her slim neck, her cheeks reddening instantly. “You are brave, I will give you that.” The groused words are said at the side of her face and Stephanie’s hands circle mine, attempting to speak through a smile.
She likes it. She is under the impression this is some sort of turn-on. Her eyes hooded and she made a throaty sound. Does she think that she will get my sister locked up and I would want to slam my d**k in her? Ah, she thinks this is some sort of Bonnie and Clyde scenario? Is she that misled about life?
Scorned, I tightened my fingers, pushing her back against the wall of the washroom, near the wide mirror, of the majestic courthouse. My expression is that is a madman. Intentionally, I had waited until today, specifically heavily guarded by officials of the law, populated with people within the law, as the day I would approach her. I could have gone to her house that night and ended her life, without anyone knowing a thing.
I say this to her. Her entire face is scarlet now, but I still do not slacken my grip on her. “Think you could c*ckhold me, puta? Because I did not fcuk you? Hmm?”
I take out my gun now and point it directly at her cheek, pressing on it, not caring if her flesh is bruised. “You play with my family’s lives for c*ck? You like games, huh? I compliment you here and there, and you think you got your nails into me now?” I think she knows the gravity of her situation now as her eyes take in a horrified glazed appearance and her hands on mine tighten as she attempts to pull it away from her neck.
Futile and she is aware.
Taking the safety off, I press more into her chubby cheek and tears run down her huge eyes. Sucking in a breath, I pull the gun away, not wanting her salty liquid to fall on it, glaring at her while my jaw muscles threaten to give out. “Tell me, wh*re, do I have a jester look about me? Hmm?”
She makes a single grunting sound, and it irritates me.
Slackening my grip on her throat, when I see it’s taking on a darker shade, she drags in a haggard breath. But I am not done with her. “Did I give you the impression I wanted more from you?”
She shook her head from side to side, her entire body shaking, in her navy-blue dress pants and white long-sleeved top.
Making a sound with my mouth to show disgust, I slapped her cheek- not with force but with the weight of my hand, twice. “I fcuked you because you were available. Joder!” Turning, I punched at the air, making a couple of steps with no aim before turning back to the frightened girl. “I happen to like your coffee, that’s it. I should k*ll you where you fcuking stand. Calling me?” I shouted the last two words. “Never call me, capiche (understand)? You do know who the fcuk I am, and you think you can just call me, and I come running? I am married! What if my wife answered, huh?”
Maya did have some sort of idea, but she thought I had a girlfriend. This coffee girl I screwed twice. Admittedly, I did bed her one time after Maya got me all hot and bothered, and I needed a release.
But I swear that I did not touch her after that.
