Lina's POV I'd been a mess these past few days. Couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, couldn't even bring myself to speak. I felt hollow, like someone had scooped out everything inside me and left nothing but raw nerves. Chloe watched me with increasingly worried eyes, like she was afraid I might shatter if she breathed too hard in my direction. "Lina," she said carefully, perching on the edge of my hospital bed. "Ethan says your uncle's been arrested. They're investigating everything—the car your parents were driving, the maintenance records, even the missing dash cam footage." My throat tightened. "Chloe, what do you think they'll find?" "Your uncle's a selfish bastard," she said bluntly. "If he really did this, if he actually goes to prison, you shouldn't feel guilty about it."
