Chloe bounced into the hospital room like she didn't have a care in the world.
"My old man's handling it," she declared cheerfully. "Ten Sterling Packs wouldn't stand a chance against him."
"That old hag—can't even raise her son properly, and now she wants to drag you down with him? She must've been reincarnated wrong. Probably a pig in her last life!"
"Lina, you don't know—Linus Sterling has several deaths on his hands. He's not getting out. Ever." Chloe's eyes gleamed with satisfaction. "And Storm Pack and the Lockwood Pack are both throwing their full weight against the Sterling Pack. Hah! Wealthiest family in the region? They're finished!"
I caught something in her words that made my breath hitch. "Wait—the Lockwood Pack?"
