Jasper, who had been silent until now, seemed to notice my confusion. "Sophie has been throwing her family name around and offending people. She deserved what she got."
His tone of knowing superiority made me even more curious.
"Who did she offend?" I asked automatically.
Luna Elena perked up too. "Jasper, do you know something?"
After a moment's consideration, Jasper said, "Sophie's dog bit someone connected to the Storm family."
Luna Elena gasped. "Oh my! The Storms? No wonder Alpha Laurent is so angry—his company has been trying to partner with Storm Enterprises!"
