Lina's POV
"Mr. Joshua pulled his investment suddenly," Jasper admitted. "You know the project is massive—developing the entire northern district of Ravenport. Lockwood Enterprises invested almost everything into it. Our capital, our resources, our reputation."
My stomach dropped. I knew enough about development projects to understand the implications.
"When a Major investor pulls out mid-project," Jasper continued, "the remaining partners have to keep pumping money in. If the project succeeds, great. If it fails..." He didn't finish the sentence. Didn't need to.
If it failed, Lockwood Enterprises would be destroyed. The Pack fortune would evaporate. Everything Victor and his father had built over generations would collapse.
"What about Storm Industries?" My voice came out
