Every single night for the past week I have been sat at the bar while Cassie worked hard behind the bar at the nightclub. When she finished, I would hide in the shadows and walk home with her. I would stay close to her, and some nights I would watch her sleep. I would frequently explore her tiny apartment, trying to uncover more details about her. It was something my parents had asked me to do after I told them that Cassie is my mate. They were skeptical that a mere mortal human would be fated to mate a prince of hell and the future king.
