Our dads took us to the toy room closest to our bedrooms. It was where Amelia was with Orion’s younger siblings. Ajax and Silas had gone ahead of us to break the news to their mate and children. I can only imagine what they were like when they were told about Orion. He was such a big part of their lives. He was a great son and a great older brother.
Daddy B was carrying me into the room, with Abadrax and Cyrus walking with Daddy D. I couldn’t even look up from my dad’s shoulder when we stepped inside. I could already hear everything. The heart-breaking sobbing, the utter dismay. It overwhelmed me and triggered my own crying, though it was only silent tears. Daddy B took a seat on the sofa, pulling me on to his lap, cradling me close to his chest.
