CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE: The Bond in Battle

It looked like we underestimated Lucas . Lucas decided to strike soon . The attack came at dawn. It wasn’t loud and reckless but was carefully planned .
The first horn sounded once before being cut short. The second never sounded at all.
I felt it through the bond before any guard reached my door. A sharp pull. AHe was already moving.
“Stay inside,” the guard ordered as the door opened. “Alpha’s command.”
“No,” I said.
The word came out calm. But my word was final I won’t allow them to keep me locked up while the pack is at war .
