Marcus
That Luna Ceremony his mother brought up, he knew she was using it finally being held, to try and keep Jessica here with them, he thought. Because if they truly had a harmonious mate bond, Jessica would never want to see them be punished. So, her doing all of this, saying all of that asking for them to be Alpha Ordered, it showed his mother she didn’t actually care for the Mates that she had.
His own mother was between an Alpha and a Beta, was in the same situation as Jessica found herself in and, she understood how it was supposed to be for that girl, had a good loving bond, where both her Mates respected her. As he and Marcus were supposed to Jessica, and she’d just learned, it wasn’t like that at all.
He also knew just how much his fathers loved and cherished their mother, spoiled her at all times, not just for her birthday or mate-bond anniversary either. His fathers had said she should be spoiled always for accepting both of them and being with them in a manner that 99% of she-wolves wouldn’t be.
One Mate between two male mates was a precious commodity, something that should be loved and doted on, because rejecting such a thing would see their Goddess get angry about not accepting what she gifted them.
That door slammed shut behind them once they were inside the Alpha’s Office, and he knew s**t was about to get real. If they were Alpha Ordered of the full and complete truth of all their parents had just heard, right down to the marking and mating comment, they were about to be lashed and likely with the cat of silver barbs.
He also knew Gregory had told her what they were planning on doing, that they did in fact go out and try and find one she-wolf that would agree to be between them, but they couldn’t just accept anyone that said yes. They had to have actual proof that the she-wolf could do it, and went so far as to tell the four she-wolves that had told them they were up for it, to allow them to watch two men do her at the same time.
So, they could in fact see she could handle it. All of them had refused to allow it, telling them that wasn’t going to happen. Gregory had produced two dildos that matched their size and stated then put these both in you so we can see we’ll fit. It had been crude to say the least, but they couldn’t reject one that could take them both for one that couldn’t.
Being Alpha Ordered would see all that come out, for their parents to hear. He also knew how they spoke about Jessica to their own social group as well. All things they said when their parents weren’t around and were off pack territory at university. All things that were not allowed to be repeated anywhere near the leadership of the pack.
He had no idea just how much Jessica had heard over the past three years, but from what he’d heard just now, he was certain she’d heard enough to see her voice that she wanted them Alpha Ordered. Enough for her to know them voicing those words would see them in a living, breathing nightmare.
He wondered now if she’d gone out of her way to stay here, just to accumulate enough knowledge to out them when she was ready. He didn’t think she actually wanted the title his mother had just used to try and keep her here. Though again she’d stated she would come back in the evening for a sit-down chat. So maybe she did want the official title.
Having that and with how she looked now, it would be unwise for anyone inside this pack to disrespect her. Once she held that title, was given it under the full moon before the entire pack, she’d hold all the cards and could punish at will anyone that so much as muttered something disrespectful within earshot of her, including them.
He found his mother right there in front of him. She’d already learned one thing about them; they knew nothing about their Mate, not even her birthday. Not once had they celebrated it, never had he or his twin even bought that girl a single gift either, and that was likely to come out here in this office as well, he now realized.
They didn’t really want her for a Mate only took her because she had humiliated them, and they’d wanted to pay her pack, and that she would handle being between the two of them; to sate that particular need they had to do a she-wolf at the same time.
He knew he’d only ever looked at her as something to sate his s****l needs in, and nothing more, and right this very minute he understood he shouldn’t have done that. That he should have paid attention to her. Instead of only sleeping in the same bed as her. Instead of going to their suite when it was well after dinner, and he knew she’d be in that bed.
“What the hell have you two done to your own Mate, that she wants your father to Alpha Order the truth about it, out of both of you?” his mother bit out. “I understand it wasn’t an instant attraction for any of you in the bond, but it should have flourished and grown within the past three years, you never once voiced to myself or your fathers you wanted out of it.”
He didn’t say anything at all because what could he say without incriminating himself? Marcus felt the boot to the back of his knee, and he hit the floor to kneel before his mother with a hard c***k, and knew it was his own father that had done it as well. Despite the man being the Alpha to this pack, he gave his Mate every ounce of power and respect where it was needed.
Because he loved her, and she was precious to him, and he never wanted to lose her, she held more power inside this pack, Marcus thought, than his own two fathers did, even though she’d come from another pack and was only Beta blooded.
She had both her Mates in the palm of her hands, and if she was angry, upset or sad, they ran about like chickens with their heads cut off trying to make her happy, because apparently no Mate ever wanted their Mate to be any of those things.
He and Gregory didn’t want to be like that with any Mate, they were going to be in control of this pack and their Mate, not the other way around. He found Gregory there kneeling before their mother as well a moment later, also gotten a boot to the back of his knee to force him down before the pack’s Luna.
And that was who she was right at this minute, not their mother, he realized. This was a ticked off Luna, who was unhappy with what she’d just learned about the treatment of the Future Luna by her two Mates. Lunas liked other Lunas, past, present or future, it didn’t matter. They also tried to protect each other.
“Answer me, or I will have your fathers order everything out of the pair or you, to answer the questions about all the things Jessica spoke of. Including how the hell the two of you didn’t know what she looked like, or that she’d lost weight.”
“None of you did either,” he muttered. “I heard father Graham’s shocked tone when he asked me if I’d seen the way Jessica was dressed today. Like he couldn’t believe it either.”
“I couldn’t…” Graham murmured, “But it wasn’t that she was thin. I’ve seen the way she hides herself behind those baggy clothes. I kind of just thought it was you two telling her to do that, to keep the wolves of this pack from looking at her…
“What shocked me was the way she walked about, so confident, a happy smile on her face, that I’ve not ever seen before. Her so happy… It doesn’t bode well, I now see.”
“Agreed.” Stephanie muttered. “Best you call Eve, Martha and Caitlyn and have them be diligent in watching over her at work today.”
“You’re right sweetheart, and with looking like that and smelling of Luna rank, she’ll be an instant target for Rogue wolves regardless of being wolf-less, much more so than before,” his own father stated. “That was actually why I thought she always dressed the way she did, to not attract attention to herself when out in the human world. Luna-ranked wolves are often targeted, a high price they fetch on the black market.”
“I’m just glad she stated she was going to work and would be coming back. Likely wants to see them punished,” his mother muttered. Then she grabbed his face roughly and unexpectedly and made him look up at her, “With all I just heard, it’s entirely possible she’s getting ready to leave your asses. Might not even resist being kidn*pped at this point. No, she-wolf would take how she stated you’ve treated her, if that is the truth for very long, only until they find a way to leave and without a trace.”
“We’re still bonded,” Gregory snorted out, and Marcus knew why. Because of the threat she’d been given about leaving them, it was only their right to reject her and banish her, not hers to up and leave them.
He heard his own father put that call in to Eve and tell her she and the others had to make sure Jessica made it to work and check on her personally report back to the Luna if anything was out of the ordinary today. All three of them needed to be watching her at intervals, she looked very different and was right now at a higher risk of being snatched off the street.
“Oh, and you think that will save your ass, do you?” his mother rapped out. “She could just go and let another claim her, mark and mate her, and you’d both bleed out and die from it…” She looked from him to Gregory. “Do you think your treatment of your Luna for the past three years, which you’ve somehow managed to keep a secret, would see her go and do that? ... One that feels unloved will eventually find a way to leave.” His mother grated out.
He’d not even considered that aspect of it and now wondered if Jessica would do that? He clearly didn’t know anything about her, they rarely, if ever spoke at all, and as he knelt there, he couldn’t actually recall the last conversation he’d had with her. He didn’t think there really had been a proper conversation between them since the day, they’d marked and mated and that was more of him and Gregory laying the law down upon her about how it was going to go.
“You're just taking her side, her words when you’ve not even confirmed…” Gregory bit out and Marcus cut him off with a vicious snarl down the mind link to ‘shut the hell up’, because if he finished that sentence, they’d be ordered the truth of everything.
And although he didn’t think his mother would force a rejection from them or grant Jessica the permission to reject them and force them to accept it, because she’d just promised to have that Luna Ceremony on the next full moon, which was just three weeks away. He knew they’d be taking a beating or likely a lashing.
