Jessica She stood up, collected her satchel of things and her handbag at 12.15 as she did every day, and headed off to the café she ate lunch in, only to have Eve ask her where she was going. Jessica looked right at her with a frown, “What’s it to you?” she’d asked right back. “Intending on pushing me over today to see me come back to work dirty.” Eve had stared at her. “What’s with the attitude you suddenly have?” Jessica had actually stopped walking and smiled. “Oh, you haven’t heard… I told my in-laws how I’m actually treated by those around me…” She really smiled now as she saw Eve’s eyes widen, “I guess you’re in for a world of pain as much as the twins are, they were being hauled off by their own parents when I left this morning. To be Alpha ordered of all they’ve done to me.” Eve was now just standing there staring at her. She seemed not only confused but unhappy, and Jessica laughed. “That Luna Ceremony is this full moon, and when it happens, guess who can punish those around me with full authority? For anything that is considered an insult,” she added. “Wasn’t it you who spoke vile words to me, shoved me over on the street…” She looked right at her “Oh, those words will be gotten from the twins today, I made sure to mention it to their parents to order out of them what the most vile thing they’ve ever said and allow others to state, is. Do you Eve, think they’ll ask the twins to name names? “I know for a fact the twins and none of you are allowed to say disrespectful things around their parents. Why is that?” she asked. “Because one between two is a rare thing indeed.” She clucked her tongue. “s**t’s about to get real in your world, if I was you… I’d be looking to flee because do you know what the punishment will be, for not only insulting me but purposely hurting me every chance you get out here. “Which I will tell them you’ve done, when you’re here at their order, not the twins, I know. To watch over and protect me, make sure no harm comes to me, but you don’t do that at all are, in fact, the one that enjoys hurting me.” She pulled out her phone. “Things have changed for me. With the new boss and dress code, I can’t stay hidden away and go unnoticed.” She indicated to the dress she was wearing. “So, I decided to lay out the cards to keep the twins away from me as much as possible.” She clicked the message button at the bottom and scrolled through to the Luna, typed out a message, ‘Luna, I’d like a new warrior to watch over me. Eve just told me my own Mates don’t want me, and they hope I’ll be snatched by rogues and killed. She’ll get to go back to sleeping with them when it happens.’ She turned that phone screen to face Eve, and let her read it and saw her eyes go wide. “If I hit Send, Eve, what do you think will happen to you? You all treat me like s**t but have forgotten one little thing over the years that have passed. I am the future of that pack, and one day you’ll all have to bow down to me.” “I never said any of that.” Eve snarled at her. “Hmm, but you did imply it in my office. I’ve got the footage of it. What if send that to the in-laws… Hmm.” She shrugged. “Which would you prefer? The text or the footage. I’m no longer going to stay silent. I’m going to have all of you punished for every little thing you did to me over the years. That includes the twins,” she stated. Eve snapped a hand out using her wolfen speed and snatched the phone from Jessica’s hand as she shoved her with the other. Jessica cried out and slammed back against the wall, allowed herself to fall down and look up at Eve, with tears in her eyes. Eve stared down at her. “The twins will beat you senseless.” “Will they?” Jessica asked as she got herself up off the ground, “Have you ever seen a single mark on me?” she murmured. “Give that back.” She held her hand out for her phone. “No, you’ll not be telling them anything,” Eve stated and gripped the phone with her wolfen strength “I don’t believe a word you say. It was the Alpha that called me, he’s not unhappy with me. You’re just bluffing.” Jessica sighed. “I guess we’ll see when you get home, won’t we.” And then she turned and walked from the building. Not having her phone on her and seeing it was destroyed and in Eve’s possession would just see her be punished. That would also work in her favor. None from the pack could call her or track her location. An added bonus for the plan that was going down. All she’d been aiming to do was tick Eve off enough to not see her follow her down the street, and interfere with the plans that were about to happen. She smiled to herself as she walked away from the Auction House, “Goodbye life.” She stated simply as she walked down the stairs. She didn’t need that phone anyway. She had a whole new life waiting for her, in another state where everything would be given to her. Only the tiniest part of her doubted Rydge was lying to her. There was always going to be a smidgen of doubt, because he was an unknown Alpha, but all the plans he’d laid out and everything he’d done for her, dropped that fear and doubt she’d had in the very beginning down from 70% to barely 5%, and she knew it. If he wasn’t what he said he was, then her life would likely be no different to what it was now she supposed. It was a risk she was willing to take. She’d handled three years of being mated to those twins who cared nothing for her at all. How much worse could it get if she was sold off to another that didn’t care for her? One uncaring forced Mate upon her would be better than two in her books. That was one of the reasons why she’d accepted this offer out of nowhere. Her life was already miserable, and she didn’t think it could get any worse. The reward outweighed the risk. Rydge being a good Alpha just trying to help her was more likely, than Rydge going out of his way and plotting and planning all this for months, in an effort just to harm her. She walked down the street and saw the van parked where she knew I was going to be. The side door was open, and she recognized both Rhett and Charlie. Rhett was leaning on the van wearing black jeans and a tee-shirt, a baseball cap on, looking to be chatting with Charlie, who was sitting in that van’s open door smiling and chatting back. Two regular Joes on their lunch break is what it looked liked, “Hey pretty lady.” Rolled out of Rhett as she walked towards them. She looked right at him as he stepped away from the van, and she came to a halt as if not knowing what to do. She watched Charlie get up and smiled at her. “Now, now, you don’t have to be afraid, we just wanna say hi.” She took a step back and shook her head. “Leave me alone.” She told them. “Oh come now, we’re not gonna hurt you, a pretty lady like you, we’re just looking to have some fun and nothing more.” Rhett chuckled. “What you think bro, the boss would like her right.” “Yeah man, and I bet we’ll get to have some fun with her for bringing in something so sweet too,” he chuckled. She turned to run down the street and saw Eve actually standing there, kind of shocked at what she was seeing, “Eve.” She called out as if wanting her help. And felt hands on her as she was grabbed from behind and hauled away. She screamed Eve’s name and saw that she-wolf look at the two with her and didn’t know what to do. She’d thought these two were posing as humans, but from the way Eve was looking at them, she didn’t think so. A hand closed over her mouth and she was dragged backwards, she let go of her handbag as she was supposed to, to be left there on the sidewalk, as she was hauled into the van and the door slammed shut. She watched Rhett shoot off the mark towards Eve through the window, and she turned and watched it from inside the van. Saw Eve turn and run back towards the auction house, fleeing from a very large wolf that looked and sounded as though they were black market snatchers. “What’s going on?” she half whispered. “We smell like rogues. Planned for this contingency, in case Eve did trail you today, I knew she’d run as well. No lone she-wolf is going to take on two rogues, likely only get herself captured,” Charlie told her. “Oh, I can’t smell that on you,” was all she stated, and she couldn’t, she didn’t have wolfen senses. “This actually works better, she’ll report to your Alpha, that two rogues snatched you off the street,” Charley commented as they watched Rhett run this way and get in behind the wheel and drive them away in a rush, as if fleeing the scene. “I don’t know if she will report it. There are supposed to be three of them watching me… They are, from my understanding, trained to save me from rogues. Trained by the Alpha and Beta, they got unlimited pack cards for taking on a job of what is considered high risk to themselves.” Jessica told them. “Well, if she doesn’t report it, that corner's camera will show it all. That’s why we opted for that spot so your pack’s tech department can hack the system and see you getting snatched. They’ll also see it was only Eve out there trailing you and her reaction to you being kidn*pped. “She trailed you out of the Auction House, at a distance. I saw her come to a complete stand still as she picked up the rogue scent we’re putting off, you however, being wolf-less, continued to walk towards us, unknowing of what we were. Played your part well, too. It’ll all be seen on that camera and that Eve did nothing at all, stood and watched.” “Likely to lose her head,” Charlie stated. “Open up and let me scent mask you.” He held up a small bottle. She did so and shook her head at the acrid taste. “That’s terrible.” “Yes, but effective.” He nodded and smiled at her even as the van slowed down. “Congratulations on your freedom, Luna.” He stated as the van pulled up a moment later and the door opened. She looked at it to find Rydge standing there. He held his hand out to her. “Come on,” he stated, and she got out. “Thanks boys, see you back at the pack in a few days.” He told them and closed the door. She watched them drive away, barely stopped for a few seconds only. “In the pack?” she asked. “Hmm, this alley has no cameras in it. But there’s a traffic camera at the end down there that will pick it up driving out the street at the other end, they’ll drive it right back to the rental company and leave for the pack from there. It’s just you and me, Jess now.” He smiled at her. “Come on, let's go inside and wait to watch the show that is about to unfold.”
