Jessica Jess turned and looked at him as she pushed her sunglasses up onto the top of her head, through her hair to hold some of it back, and smiled at him a full happy smile, but it was because this was the last image he was going to have of her. This would be the last time he ever laid eyes on her, and she was, as Graham had stated, looking every bit a Luna right now, just one that was going into the office. She saw him come to a complete stand still as his eyes swept over her, taking her all in, from the way her hair was done, to the make-up she wore. His mouth kind of gaped open as his eyes moved down over her body, in this figure-hugging dress that clung to her, and she did have curves now. Had a nice hourglass figure. Rydge had accepted her as the frumpy, dowdy wolf-less she-wolf, made that deal with her long before he sent her off to have her hair and make-up done, to take her shopping for a dress and got to see what was under the oversized clothes she wore. He’d just smiled at her, not cared that she was wolf-less or a little messy. Though she guessed he’d also probably seen the way she dressed; hid who she really was. Understood why after hearing all the disrespectful comments she’d gotten. Marcus was now kind of gob smacked, she thought as she saw how he could hardly believe this was his Mate standing before him. “Yes?” she inquired of him. “I… How… What.” He stuttered as his eyes moved back to her face and roamed over her. She saw his eyes glaze over and just knew he was linking to his twin. “I’ve got work, so if you can’t string a sentence together, how about we talk when I get home?” She stated and turned to walk away from him to continue on to her car. Only to have a hand land on her bare arm and feel those mate bond sparks. “You can’t go dressed like that,” Marcus stated as he pulled her around to look at him. “I can, this is the new uniform and dress code.” She told him. “I don’t believe that,” Marcus stated. “You came home yesterday looking like…” “Like what?” she asked right back. “You wouldn’t know, never seen me go to work or come back from it. Never return to the suite after training to see me get dressed for work,” she pointed out to him. “I would bloody notice if you looked like this,” he stated. “Really?” she asked and leaned back on the car, as she brushed his hand from her arm. “Do you think I lost all that weight overnight? Used some magic spell?” She raised an eyebrow at him and then shook her head. “You’ve never dressed like this, who are you going to see?” he snarled at her and gripped her arm once more. Gregory came trotting down the stairs. “What are you talking about Marcus?” he asked. He couldn’t see her yet due to where Marcus was standing. She watched Marcus step aside and smiled at Gregory, as she had done Marcus when he’d come outside to look at her. She could only think Graham had told them to see her off, or maybe she looked very different and to go and look at her. Gregory came to a standstill as much as Marcus had and looked her over. A frown touched his face and he actually smelled her, and she laughed softly and shook her head. “Your own Mate is standing in front of you, and you have to smell her to know it’s her. That’s f*****g amazing,” she stated. Both of them turned wide eyes upon her at the attitude she’d just dished out. She was nothing but polite and well-mannered. “How’d you get like this?” Gregory asked. “And why are you dressed like that?” he demanded of her. “I’m going to work. This is my new uniform,” she told them and shoved Marcus’ hand off her once more. “I don’t believe you.” Marcus bit out. “No one dresses like that to go to work.” “Oh, don’t they.” She pulled out her phone and, right in front of both of them, she accessed her e-mail and pulled up the one for the new requirements at work, and handed it to Marcus, “See for yourself, I got a new boss who’s trying to smarten up the place. That’s the dress code, and if you scroll down, there are the three female uniforms all similar in style.” She watched the pair of them actually go through that e-mail and read it all, the full-dress code, and look at her, look at the dress she was wearing, and then it was just tossed it back to her. “Fine, so it is work-related, but why haven’t we seen you like this before?” Marcus asked “I don’t understand why you both can’t believe what you’re seeing…” she shook her head. “We’ve been mated for three years, and I’ve been like this for at least a year. Do you never look at your Mate?” she asked right back, knowing full well they did not, and she saw both of them frown at her because even they couldn’t answer that without incriminating themselves. “Oh, that’s right…” she went on. “No, you don’t, she’s fat and wolf-less in your eyes, also someone you don’t like or respect, so…” she shrugged, as if that explained it all. But then she saw the Luna and both their fathers coming out of the packhouse, looking about and laying eyes on the three of them. They were looking for her, she supposed; only Graham had seen her. He was bringing Stephanie and Hector out there to see it for themselves. She could only guess. Goddess, this was turning into a show it seemed, not just her quiet exit from the pack. At least they didn’t bring the Gamma with them. They were likely expecting to see their sons be all happy and turned on, maybe even playful with their Mate, they were going to be sorely disappointed, because both Marcus and Graham were focused on her and not who was around. Or coming this way. She realized as she looked at their parents, she could take this opportunity and make it to her liking. If they wanted a show, she’d give them one. Her very time inside this pack would see them take a verbal lashing by all three of their parents today. She was leaving, so what the hell did it matter to her what happened to them! She turned her eyes to her Mates “Of course, you wouldn’t know, or recognize me, not when you both always yank me onto all fours and f**k me from behind, with the lights out, so you don’t have to look at me.” She stated flatly. “So, of course, you don’t know what I look like anymore. You have never once touched me as loving Mate would, not even for marking and mating, so again, no, you wouldn’t know what my body looks like or feels like either, “I’m not even naked when you f**k me, because, well, fat, remember, and you don’t want to see that, it’ll turn you off, also the very reason why the lights are off, and you shut your wolfen senses down. So, you can just f**k until your happy and then pass me to your brother, when you’re done, who treats me exactly the same.” She laid it all out for their parents to hear. “So, is it really my fault that you don’t know what your own Mate actually looks like? When you come to bed after the lights are out and keep all your wolfen senses out of f*****g me, which I know you do, because if you didn’t do that, you’d have seen I was thin a year ago. Stopped calling me fat as well, when you were ticked off about something and took your frustrations out of me.” She could see the horror on their mother’s face, as she listened to her words, and they came to understand just what kind of bond their sons had with their Goddess-Gifted Mate. She also saw anger on both their fathers' faces as well; who shared one Mate and loved her, treated her very differently she could well imagine. “What the hell is going on?” Luna Stephanie grated out. Jessica watched both her Mates' heads whip around and look at their mother, as they realized she’d heard everything, she’d said, “It’s not…” Marcus stated. “It is,” Jess reaffirmed, cutting him off, “I’m going to work, you can order the truth out of them if you like, seeing as they never let you see it; how they treat me.” She saw Marcus and Gregory turn eyes on her, and again they were wide, though this time disbelieving of what she’d said. She smiled at both of them, “Have a nice day.” She stated cheerily and turned and got into her car. “Jessica wait.” It was Alpha Hector. “I’m sorry, Alpha, but the new boss is in today, and he expressly stated no one should be late,” she looked at her watch and sighed. “I will be if I don’t leave in the next five minutes.” “Is what you said true? How they treat you?” Hector asked, sounding somewhat disbelieving. “Father, it’s not,” Marcus stated, “She’s just angry with us, we forgot her birthday the other day.” Jessica rolled her eyes. “Feel free to order them of the truth. As for my birthday? They’ve never done anything for it, and a few days ago,” she shook her head. “It’s two months from now. They don’t even know when it is,” she voiced. “We do so.” Graham shot at her. “When is it then? I bet the Luna knows. So go on, tell me when it is.” Jessica smiled right at him; he had no idea. They didn’t do anything for her birthday or their mate-bond anniversary either. They had never once bought her a single gift, as far as they were concerned, being mated to them and them gracing her bed was the gift she should be thankful for. She saw Luna Stephanie turn and look at her sons. “When is it?” she asked them directly. Jessica smiled as both of them turned to each other as if the other one of them would know, and after a full minute of holding a private mind-link conversation in which she shook her head and she saw their own mother start to get more than ticked off. Which meant she did know when it was. She’d stated two months from now, but that wasn’t true either. She was out to see them fail, and she knew as Luna Stephanie stood there staring at them, they were digging their own hole. It was currently the 29th of September. Which meant to them November was her birthday when, in fact, it was October 31st. Something she actually liked. The mind-link over both of them stated “November 30.” “Wrong,” Luna Stephanie muttered. “By a long shot, it’s not even in November. “She misled you on purpose to prove a point.” Both of their eyes turned on her, and she leaned on the open window of her car and smiled merrily at them. “October 31st, all hallows eve, Halloween. The day of the dead, the thinning of the vale; take your pick.” They were both glaring at her, and she heard the Luna snort at her response because, yes, there were many ways to remember it. The pack was also always festive on that day too.
