Iris stretched, awakening from what felt like a week’s long sleep before looking around and sitting up slowly. How and when did she get here? She was back in Jay and Onyx’s trove, in Onyx’s nest. She smiled as she noted he’d added pillows and cushions, and she was covered in a thick blanket.
Rolling to her side, she took note of the oversized beast who must have carried her while she slept to his trove once their heats resolved. In his dragon form, grumbling through their bond, he pawed through a giant pile of shiny objects.
“What are you doing Onyx?”
He huffed loudly and nuzzled into gold burying his snout entirely and didn’t respond.
She reached out to Jay through their bond, “my love, why is Onyx out of sorts?”
“He is looking for a gift and I am too tired to help him,” Jay yawned
