The day of the pitch came and it went perfect.
The client loved every slide. Handshakes flew all around. The team cheered in the lobby. But my eyes kept finding Ethan across the room. That proud smile he shot me? It lit fires deep inside.
The day went by smoother than I expected. We didn’t have so much time to ourselves today because the office was too busy for some alone time.
I managed to stay around the other workers even if my mind and body wanted only one thing.
We all ate. Drank. And clinked our glasses to bagging more clients successfully.
