My eyes narrowed.
“What are you offering?”
The smile she gave me should’ve been illegal.
“What if dirty-talking Nevara made an appearance?”
Across the table, Salas froze with the unmistakable expression of a man who desperately wanted to be anywhere else.
Unfortunately for him, Nevara was looking at me with that wide-eyed innocence she always adopted right before saying something outrageous.
The fact that she’d somehow managed to maintain it after mentioning dirty talking only made it worse. If innocence had ever existed on her list of qualities, it certainly wasn’t making an appearance today.
“You are absolutely not bribing your way out of punishment.”
“Damn.”
She sounded genuinely disappointed.
“I really thought dirty-talking Nevara would get me out of it.”
“Nevara.”
