Arianna The walk back to the Alpha house felt much longer than it should have. Not because the house was far away. It wasn’t. It was because I was following Braxton while trying very hard not to think about the fresh mark on my neck. Or the man still sitting inside a dungeon cell wearing the most ridiculously satisfied smile I’d ever seen. I lifted my fingers to my neck. Even through my hair I could feel it.
