The warriors had rotated patrols through the night, Braxton had moved his mother and Eva somewhere secure, and every officer on duty had been checked twice before being allowed near anything sensitive. It should have made me feel better. It didn’t. Because Arianna’s father could become anyone. That changed every damn rule.
