I woke up warm and comfortable, which was weird considering we were sleeping in a cave. There was pressure on my chest, and when I moved my hand to investigate, I touched... hair.
Did Kane have a hairy back? I didn’t think so.
I opened my eyes and got startled. There was a huge beast lying on top of me, red eyes fixated on my face. How long had it been watching me sleep?
“Oh my goddess!” I gasped, scrambling back with my heart in my throat.
The massive lycan just stared right back at me, completely unbothered by my panic. Its head was the size of my torso, and those glowing red eyes held an intelligence that was both familiar and unnerving.
