Elena’s POV
The message from Alpha Rowe’s representative lay on my desk. I had read it so many times that I could almost recite it.
Alpha Rowe has received an offer from an unnamed party. They have promised guaranteed supply routes and protection for his pack if he reduces his support for the Supreme Alpha.
Someone was trying to weaken Damian’s position without challenging him directly. If Rowe accepted, other allied packs might follow. Damian could end up fighting Black Fang at the borders while struggling to keep his allies together.
Vivian Maddox’s warning kept returning to me.
Sometimes someone has already made them a better offer.
Had she heard about the offer, or had she been trying to unsettle me? I had no proof she was involved, and I would not let suspicion make my decisions
