Chapter 68: The Forbidden Forest

1075 Words

Leo’s POV I told myself I wasn't going to the forest. The government notice had been clear: unauthorized entry into the restricted zone could lead to arrest. The treaty summary had been even more unsettling. The boundaries weren't there just to protect people from dangerous terrain. They helped keep the human world separate from territories governed by werewolves. I should have closed my notebook and forgotten the whole thing. Instead, I spent the next morning studying the map I'd copied from the government records. The restricted forest sat beyond Greyport's northern outskirts. The marked boundary curved around a stretch of woodland and hills, with only a few roads leading toward it. There was no public trail through the middle, and the warnings appeared on every official map I found.
