Downtown came into view with the last of the evening sitting low between the buildings. Traffic pushed around us in uneven lines, too many people trying to get home while something ugly moved beneath all of it. I kept the SUV steady and watched the glass tower ahead grow larger through the windshield. Huxley Legal sat inside that tower, and tonight it had too many wrong people under one roof.
Roan checked his phone again from the passenger seat. “Jace says the garage level stayed active after Hale’s detail went in. Two guards changed position at the entrance, but nobody came back out. Security desk in the lobby is still staffed from the street view. No sign of Vincent yet.”
