Roan looked at me for another second before speaking again. “That why you’ve been distracted lately?”
“f**k off.”
The laughter disappeared fast after that.
Dex looked back toward me while opening the SUV door. “You think this connects to Reese now?”
“I think Vale noticed enough.”
Vincent looked between all of us slowly. “Who’s Reese?”
“Not your concern,” Roan answered before I could.
I stepped out into the garage level and headed toward the vehicles. The loading area stayed mostly empty except for two maintenance workers farther near the exit gate pretending not to pay attention to us. Kane watched them while Dex opened the SUV doors.
Roan followed beside me. “You can’t go alone.”
“I’m not.”
“You know what I mean.”
I did.
That didn’t change the situation.
