“Already working.”
I ended the call and looked at Kane as he came back through the door.
“Service corridor,” I said. “Behind the elevators. Check it now. Take one man with you.”
Kane nodded. “Prez.”
He left again.
Reese stepped closer to me. “What service corridor?”
“The courier didn’t leave through the front doors.”
Simone cursed under her breath.
Alina’s manager finally looked scared enough to be useful.
Reese’s face didn’t change much, but I knew her well enough to see what she was doing. She was locking everything down inside herself. Fear. Anger. Questions. All of it went behind the same calm expression she wore when something went wrong at work and everyone else needed her steady.
I hated that she had to do that here.
“I need everyone to stay in this room,” I said.
