I was halfway through the headcount email when Kane knocked.
He came in before I answered which told me something had happened before he said a word.
"There was an incident at the gate," he said.
I set my phone down. "What kind of incident?"
"Two men came onto the property."
"And?"
"It's handled."
I stared at him. "That's not what I asked."
He held my gaze for a second. "The compound is on lockdown. Nobody in or out until Prez says otherwise."
"Is anyone hurt?"
He didn't answer immediately.
