Kane was waiting near the main door when I got out of the SUV. He fell into step beside me, his eyes doing the quick read he always did when I came back from somewhere he hadn't been able to control.
"You're in one piece," he said.
"Looks that way."
"How'd it go?"
"Complicated."
He didn't push.
"Where's Reese?" I asked.
"Her room. Said she wanted to work on something for the show."
I nodded and kept walking toward church first. Dante was already on his feet when I came through the door, Cam right behind him with a laptop open.
Dante looked me over once. "Look at that. You're alive. Guess walking into Crane's territory alone wasn't a fatal idea after all."
