As I sat down at the table that had been reserved for us, Lucas excused himself for a moment. When he came back, he had a huge bouquet of roses.
I watched him as he brought them over to the table.
“These are for you.” He said as he placed them on the table. “Roses are still your favorite flowers, right?” He asked, raising a brow at me.
I nodded. “I didn’t think you would remember.”
Lucas had a proud smile registered on his face. “Of course, I’ll remember.” He said as she sat down next to me. “You were my wife in case you’ve forgotten.”
A chuckle escaped my lips. “I didn’t think you were paying any attention to me,” I responded, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
