“I don’t care what you are, you’ll never have a chance with me. Move on and focus on your life. I can’t be with someone as horrible as you.”
Layla’s words replayed in my head as I drove back to the house.
For a moment, I thought she had warmed up to me. I thought I had a chance at her forgiveness. But I was wrong. She still despised me.
I could see the hatred and disdain in her eyes.
She spoke to me rudely without any remorse.
I felt so hurt but I managed to get myself together. I forced a smile and I pretended like everything was okay before turning around to my car.
It was a good thing she didn’t cause a scene. It would’ve been so embarrassing if she had humiliated me in front of so many people.
I felt really terrible.
