“Are you guys done talking to your daddy?” I asked Lily as she slid into my blanket to snuggle with me. They were on a call with Lucas before I left their room.
Lily shook her head. “No, Akira is still speaking to him.” She replied, her voice low. “It’s been two months since we last saw him. When will he come to visit us?”
I gently pulled Lily closer, wrapping my hand around her, and brushing a hand through her hair. “I don’t know yet. He’s busy right now, but I’m sure he’ll come here as soon as he can.”
The girls were devastated because of their father’s absence. Even though I didn’t think it was a good idea when Lucas said he would move to Japan just to be closer to the kids, I felt bad when he changed his mind.
