“Mama, can we go out and get ice cream?” Akira pleaded, offering me those puppy eyes she knew I couldn’t resist. “Please, Lily also wants ice cream.”
Ever since Lily came back from the hospital, Akira had been using her sister as an excuse to manipulate me into giving her whatever she wanted.
The truth was that I didn’t mind. Not after what happened.
