“I’m sorry I didn’t call you back yesterday, I lost track of time.” Olivia apologized for the umpteenth time as we had lunch together.
I responded with a soft smile. “I’ve told you several times. It’s okay.” I assured her, taking a bite from my food. “We can just talk about it later.”
Olivia sighed, leaning back into her chair. “Alright.”
I picked a kid-friendly restaurant for lunch with Olivia. I wanted the kids to be occupied after eating because I wanted to talk to Olivia about everything.
The last thing I needed was for the kids to listen to our conversation. After a few more minutes, we were done eating.
“Are you guys satisfied?” I asked the girls as they were about to leave the table to entertain themselves in another part of the restaurant.
